Medellin: learning Spanish and homestay

I just booked a flight out to Colombia for end of January for 5 weeks; travelling alone, female and old (63)!. I am wondering if anyone has recent experience of learning Spanish in Medellin? I know this has been discussed before but seems a little dated on most fora.

 

I am trying to decide between private lessons with Yadira at Black Sheep and going to group lessons at Toucan (too expensive to do private with Toucan? I like the idea of one to one as I think this will address my needs better, but on the other hand like the possibility of some activities and social things that Toucan offer.

 

Also did anyone try a homestay, if so how was it? I am thinking I will do this for hte first couple of weeks anyway and see how it goes.

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
