If your internet connection drops while you are trying to access the web, Chrome displays a notification with a pixilated dinosaur next to it saying "Unable to connect to the Internet" or "No internet," which Google introduced to Chrome a few years ago.

A lot of people probably thought the dinosaur was just a charming little symbol to keep them company while their internet connection was down for maintenance. In the midst of this, someone pressed the space bar. The dinosaur sped out in a blaze of glory.

Many gamers consider this game to be one of their favorites. Playing it (be careful, it's addictive) while you're online and needing a break is permitted. This page explains how to play the game while connected to the internet.

Step-by-by-step instructions for the dinosaur game

Open Chrome if your internet connection is down. Visit any website while in Chrome to see if the issue persists. The error message is accompanied by a little dinosaur.

The dinosaur will begin to sprint as soon as you press the space bar (or the up arrow). The up arrow on your keyboard can be used to jump over obstacles, such as cacti. The higher the dino can jump the longer your finger is on the up arrow.

If you need to get below the surface, use the down arrow.

For every additional minute you spend playing, the dino and the ground on your screen speed up. The game will end if you collide with anything, and you will have to restart from the beginning (your score resets, too). You can restart the game by pressing the space bar.

Thank goodness, you can now pass the time while your internet connection is being repaired. What if you want to play it while connected to the internet? This can be done in a variety of ways.
