Extrajudicial executions, rape, forced abortions, jail without trial, torture, starvation rations that leave prisoners so hungry some turn to eating insects.
These are just some of the abuses commonplace in North Korean prisons and other detention facilities, according to former detainees whose testimony forms the basis of a new report released by a human rights watchdog this week.
Accessibility for all is a fundamental principle that promotes equal opportunities and inclusion across society. It encompasses physical spaces, digital platforms, communication methods, and services that are designed to accommodate diverse needs and abilities. By removing barriers, whether architectural, technological, or informational, accessibility enables individuals with disabilities to participate fully in social, educational, and economic activities. It's not just about meeting legal requirements but also about fostering empathy and understanding, creating environments where every person can navigate, communicate, and contribute effectively. Embracing accessibility for all ensures that everyone can enjoy their rights to independence, dignity, and equal opportunities in all aspects of life.
