In the current generation, every business entity and significantly every individual needs an online platform. However, just having a website is no longer sufficient, the website has to be reachable by the intended clients. This is why there is need for Search Engine Optimization (SEO ). But do you really get more visitors through your site with SEO? To this question, the answer is a clear ‘yes’, and here’s why.

Understanding Search Engine Optimization

SEO is the strategy of optimising your website to rank higher in the search engine’s results pages. Even when people are looking for search phrases that are relevant to your trade, SEO ensures your website rises to the top of such search results and therefore more people will likely be using your site.

Some of the categories are keyword optimization, on-page optimization that includes meta tags headings, content optimization, back links, off page optimization and technical optimization that comprises of speed, mobility, and secure connections respectively. All these compose an essential segment of figuring out how search engines such as Google, rank your site.

How SEO Drives Traffic

  1. Higher Visibility: The main purpose of SEO is to make your website as visible as it can be. The results show that the higher the rank of the website displayed on the search engine results page, the higher the number of click-through by human user. The first page of Google in a search result is clicked on by human beings 71% of the time. Having a website on the first page of search results gives one a higher chance at getting the traffic one desires.
  2. Targeted Traffic: When I talk of SEO, I do not mean just getting more people into your sites, but relevant people. What is more, you target only those people who are already interested in what you can offer, using only the most suitable keywords. This increases the chances of making a conversion, whether this is a purchase, signing up to a newsletter, or whatever your goal is.
  3. Long-Term Results: While paid advertisement involves ceasing traffics as soon as the payment to the service provider ceases, SEO has long termed gains. Once on the site has appeared and ranked high it is possible to preserve it and keep a high attendance rate without further investment.
  4. Better User Experience: To me SEO is not simply optimizing for the search engines but also the users. It is quite understandable that Google’s algorithm is keen on the capability of a website to provide a good user experience. This means that highly optimized sites such as those that are fast, mobile friendly and with a good and valuable content stand higher chances of ranking high. More time being spent on a website is the result of a better level of satisfaction, as is the revision of visits.
