Inspire Courage (Su): A 1st-level bard can use his performance to inspire courage in his allies (including himself), bolstering them against fear and enhancing their combat capabilities. To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive the bard's performance. An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against spell and fear effects and a +1 proficiency bonus on attack and damage rolls. At the 5th level and every six levels thereafter, this bonus increases by +1, up to a maximum of +4 at the 17th level. Inspire Courage is an alienating ability. Inspire courage can use visual or audible components. The bard must choose what type of component to use when beginning the performance.
Inspire Great Ability (Su) : A bard of 3rd level or higher can use his performance to help an ally succeed in Simple weapons. That ally must be within 30 feet and must be able to hear the bard. The ally receives a +2 proficiency bonus on skill checks with a particular skill as long as they continue to hear the bard's performance. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the bard reaches beyond 3rd (+3 to 7th, +4 to 11th, +5 to 15th, and +6 to 19th). Certain uses of this ability may not make sense, such as using it for Stealth, and should not be allowed at the DM's discretion. A bard cannot inspire great aptitude about himself. Inspiring great fitness requires audible components.
Suggestion (Sp) : A bard of 6th level or higher can use his performance to make a suggestion (such as the spell) to a creature he has already fascinated (see above). Using this ability does not interrupt the fascinate effect, but requires activating a standard action (in addition to the free action to continue the fascinate effect. A bard may use this ability more than once against the same creature during a single performance.
Making a suggestion does not count towards the daily use of bardic performances. A Will saving throw (DC 10 + 1/2 bard level + his Charisma modifier) nullifies the effect. This ability only affects a single creature. Suggestion is a language-dependent, alienating, enchanting (compulsion) ability that requires audible components.
Lay of Doom (Su) : A bard of 8th level or higher can use his performance to cause a growing sense of terror in his enemies, causing them to shake. To be affected, an enemy must be within 30 feet and be able to see and hear the bard's performance. The effect lasts as long as the enemy remains within 30 feet range and the bard continues to perform. This performance cannot cause a creature to become frightened or terrified, even if the targets were already shaken by another effect. dirge of doom is a scary and alienating effect and requires audible and visual components.
