You definitely need to install a shut-off valve on the sewer pipe. This simple but effective device completely blocks the reverse flow of drains. Ideally, it should have been installed during the initial pipe laying. But if you haven't, you can contact Pom Waterproofing https://pomwaterproofing.ca/back-water-valve-installation/.
