Hall Effect Sensors: The Heart of ABS Technology

Hall Effect sensors play a crucial role in modern automotive technology, particularly in the context of Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS). ABS sensor  is a safety feature designed to prevent wheels from locking up during hard braking, thus helping drivers maintain steering control and preventing skidding. Hall Effect sensors are an essential component within ABS systems, helping to ensure their effectiveness.

In ABS systems, Hall Effect sensors are used to monitor the rotational speed of each wheel. These sensors are typically placed near the wheel hub and positioned to detect the rotation of a toothed wheel or a magnetic encoder ring that's attached to the wheel hub or axle. As the wheel rotates, the teeth on the wheel or the magnetic poles on the encoder ring pass by the Hall Effect sensor, causing changes in the magnetic field that are detected as voltage fluctuations
